Hand and wrist surgery

The hand surgery performed by Dr. Sturbois-Nachef draws on expertise gained from more than 10 years of practical experience.

The official use of the title “Hand Surgeon” is only possible after obtaining the “Right to the title of Hand Surgeon,” issued by the accreditation commission of the French Society for Hand Surgery and validated by the French Medical Council. This right is only obtained if the surgeon meets strict conditions in terms of training, experience, publications, and scientific communications.

Hand surgery can be used to treat a range of specific conditions that vary depending on the anatomical area concerned:

    • of the median nerve at the carpal tunnel (carpal tunnel syndrome ↘︎)

and of the ulnar nerve (formerly cubital) at the elbow ↘︎

  • Arthritis:

Involvement of the hand and wrist joints in the context of inflammatory rheumatic diseases and autoimmune conditions (rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondyloarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, lupus, scleroderma, Sjögren’s syndrome)

  • Tendon disorders:

Tendinitis (notably De Quervain’s tendinitis, trigger finger, etc.)

  • Dupuytren’s disease

  • Cysts of the fingers and wrist: (dermoid cysts, synovial/ganglion cysts, etc.)

  • Ligament and bone injuries of the wrist: (scapholunate ligament injury, TFCC—triangular fibrocartilage complex—injury, ulnocarpal impaction syndrome, scaphoid fracture, distal radius fracture, scaphoid nonunion, etc.)
